- The top 3 finishers in the age groups listed in section 2.8 will also be awarded for the distances “Zaķis,” “Buks,” and “Lūsis.”
- Series winners in the overall standings will be awarded during the final stage.
7. Overall Standings in Individual Competition
7.1. Each Stirnu buks race is a separate competition.
7.2. Participants have the opportunity to compete for the overall series championship in six different distances:
- "School Championship",
- "Vāvere",
- "Zaķis",
- "Stirnu buks",
- "Lūsis",
- "King and Queen of the Mountain".
7.3. In the first five stages of the ERRGO Stirnu buks trail running series, the winners of all distances (except for "King and Queen of the Mountain") earn 1,000 points. Each subsequent participant's score is calculated using the following formula:
(Winner’s time / Participant’s time) × 1,000
Before the season's final stage, each participant's ranking is based on the sum of their three best scores from the five series stages. After the fifth stage, a ranking is established to determine the season winner in the final stage, following the "chase" format.
7.4. In the 6th and final stage of the season, on October 11th, the “Pļaviņu Grand Final Stirnu buks” will determine the overall series champions in the following distances:
- "School Championship",
- "Vāvere",
- "Zaķis",
- "Stirnu buks",
- "Lūsis".
The TOP 20 participants in each distance, who have accumulated the highest total points from the previous five series stages, will start individually with a fixed time interval. The overall leader in the standings will start first, followed by the remaining TOP 20 participants at specific time intervals per distance. After the TOP 20 staggered start, all other participants at that distance will start together at a mass start.
Time Intervals for the TOP 20 Participants:
- School Championship – 5 seconds between each participant
- Vāvere – 5 seconds between each participant
- Zaķis – 10 seconds between each participant
- Stirnu buks – 15 seconds between each participant
- Lūsis – 20 seconds between each participant
7.5. The overall ranking includes points earned in both the distance races and the sprint stage. The maximum number of possible points per stage is 1,300. (For calculating the overall standings of the sprint stage "King and Queen of the Hill", see paragraph 10 of the regulations.)
7.6. An exception applies to the August 2nd trail run "Sēlijas Stirnu buks" for the "Vilks" distance. Participants in the "Vilks" distance DO NOT compete in the "King and Queen of the Mountain" sprint stage for that event. Instead, all "Vilks" participants automatically earn 300 extra points due to the distance’s length and difficulty.
7.7. Points earned in the "Vilks" distance are added to the "Lūsis" overall standings. However, the 300 bonus points are not included in the "King and Queen of the Mountain" sprint stage standings.
8. Overall Standings in "Stirnu buks Super League" (STB Super League) Team Competition
8.1 Basic conditions for participating in the STB Super League team competition:
8.1.1. participants can register teams of 4-12 members to participate in the team's overall standings. Teams are registered via http://bit.ly/StirnubuksReģistrētKomandu.
8.1.2. To be eligible for team rankings, at least 4 unique participants (one specific participant in one distance. One participant cannot compete in several distances) from a team must compete in each stage, participating in one of the following distances:
- "Vāvere",
- "School Championship",
- "Zaķis",
- "Stirnu buks",
- "Lūsis"/"Vilks".
8.1.3. A participant can only be registered for one STB Super League team and cannot switch teams during the season. The team captain can add new members during the season, up to the maximum team size, by registering additional participants in the captain’s profile section.
8.1.4. Team rankings are calculated based on the total points team members earn in each competition. The team's score includes the highest total points from 4 team members, regardless of gender:
- "Vāvere" & "School Championship" → Only distance points (maximum 1,000 points per race).
- "Zaķis", "Stirnu buks", "Lūsis"/"Vilks" → Distance points + sprint stage points (maximum 1,000 + 300 points).
- and 3 participants with the highest sum of points, regardless of distance.
8.1.5. Exception – "Sēlijas Stirnu buks and Vylks" Trail Race (August 2nd). The team rankings are calculated as per section 8.1.4, except that "Lūsis" is replaced by "Vylks", and participants receive 300 extra points for the track's difficulty.
8.2. STB Super League Playoffs & Season Champion Determination
8.2.1. In the first three stages of the 2024 ERRGO Stirnu buks trail running series, each team accumulates points, forming a team ranking and dividing teams into divisions:
- STB Super League
- STB First League
- STB Second League
- Additional leagues, depending on the number of registered teams.
Each league consists of 8 teams. The ranking after the first three stages determines each team's placement in the league.
8.2.2. From the 4th stage, teams remain within their assigned division (league). They are paired against each other for the remaining season stages, competing in a knockout-style Playoff format to determine their final ranking.
- The STB Super League team champions are determined in the final Playoff round.
8.2.3. Exception – 6th Stage (Final Competition):
- The two lowest-ranked teams in a league (with the fewest points) compete against the two highest-ranked teams from the league below in a four-team match.
Playoff (Knockout) System:
In each stage, teams are paired, competing based on their earned points.
The team with the higher total points in each pairing advances to the next round.
The losing team competes for lower-ranking positions.
The STB Super League Team Champion is the team that wins the final Playoff round in the last season stage.
The runner-up is the losing team in the final round.
9. The League of Friends, in cooperation with AKROPOLE shopping centers regulations
9.1. Friendly league qualifying conditions:
9.1.1. Select the "League of Friends" section in your Stirnu buka profile and register team members. The person who registers becomes the team captain;
9.1.2. 3 to 6 members can be registered in a team (in the first stage of the season, you can say with 3 participants, but we recommend that the team in the following stages still be composed of 4 people to accumulate the necessary number of distances) The number of team members may be increased during the season, not exceeding the specified number of participants. The team is registered by its captain by filling out the registration form on his member's profile page;
9.1.3. A participant who participates in the Friends League competition may also participate in the Team competition;
9.1.4. the team can include both trail runners and trail walkers;
9.1.5. All the participants of the "Stirnu buks" distances of the trail running series (deer, squirrel, School Championship, hare, doe, lynx/wolf) can participate in the League of Friends competition.
9.2. Evaluation conditions:
9.2.1. The League of Friends team members can choose the distance they want to run. There is no fixed division of distances (as it is in the team competition) to receive a qualification;
9.2.2. During the entire season of the "Stirnu buks 2025" trail running series, the League of Friends team members must accumulate 21 finished distances.
9.2.3. The team members' successful distance finishes during the control time are considered. Speed and place are not taken into account. The primary condition is to finish before the cutoff time.
Example of point calculation:
There are 4 members in the Mazputniņi team of the League of Friends. In the first stage of the Stirnu buka, 3 participants from the team start (the fourth one is sick) - in walking distance of the Stirnu buka trail, squirrel distance and susura distance. Everyone finishes within the control time and receives 3 credited distances. In the next stage of the Stirnu buka, two participants from the Mazputniņi team start (the other two are scolded by the team for delaying the Stirnu buka). Two distances are finished during the control time, and the team adds 2 more to the 3 distances completed in the previous stage, in total 5 distances have already been finished in the season. There are still 16 distances left to complete to participate in the season's 21 distance competition. The team meets, and all four are already in the next stage because they want to accumulate 21 finished distances by the end of the season to participate in the draw for the main prize.
9.3. League of Friends award criteria:
9.3.1. The Friends League teams whose members have finished at least 21 distances during the entire season draw the grand prize of the overall ranking and various promotion prizes.

10. Sprint Stage "King and Queen of the Mountain" Overall Standings
10.1. The winner of the sprint stage "King and Queen of the Mountain" (open to all participants of the "Zaķis", "Stirnu buks", and "Lūsis" distances) earns 300 points. Each subsequent participant’s result is calculated using the following formula:
Winner's time ÷ Participant’s time × 300
10.2. An exception applies to the August 2nd "Sēlijas Stirnu buks" trail race for the "Vilks" distance. "Vilks" distance participants DO NOT compete in the "King and Queen of the Mountain" sprint stage for that event. Instead, all "Vilks" participants earn an additional 300 points due to the distance’s length and difficulty. However, these automatically earned 300 points are NOT included in the overall standings of the "King and Queen of the Mountain" sprint stage.
10.3. The season winner of the "King and Queen of the Mountain" sprint stage is determined by summing up the best four results from the Stirnu buks trail running series.
10.4. Impact of the "King and Queen of the Mountain" Sprint Stage on Individual and Team Rankings:
10.4.1. In the individual overall ranking, sprint stage points earned in the season's final (sixth) race are NOT considered nor included in the stage result.
10.4.2. To determine the overall season winner of the "King and Queen of the Mountain" sprint stage, points earned in the season's final (sixth) race ARE counted.

12.3.1. Fastest Runners – Points are awarded to students based on their ranking in the STB School Championship distance. The winner earns 1,000 points. Each subsequent participant’s score is calculated as (Winner’s time / Participant’s time) × 1,000. The eight fastest runners from the school contribute to the team’s score. Even if students are not among the top eight, their result contributes to other categories (Longest Distance, Largest Squad).
12.3.2. Longest Distance – Points are awarded based on the total distance completed by all team members. The distance achieved is multiplied by 10 to determine points. Both running and trail walking count. Finish time is not considered. Participants can choose any Stirnu Buks distance (Vāvere, Zaķis, Stirnu Buks, Lūsis) according to age and fitness level—example of point calculations.
Vāvere (5 km) → 5 × 10 = 50 points
Lūsis (35 km) → 35 × 10 = 350 points
12.3.3. Recruiters (New Participant Bonus) – Teams earn points by attracting new participants to the ERGO Stirnu Buks series. A new participant has not competed in the 2024 Stirnu Buks season. Participants must finish their chosen distance (running or walking) to earn points.
